Frequently asked questions
Common questions about WP Inventory Manager features.
Is WP Inventory Manager free?
Yes. The core plugin is free to download and use with no item limits. Pro licenses unlock automatic updates, priority support and access to paid add-ons.
Do I need WooCommerce?
No. WP Inventory Manager is completely independent of WooCommerce. It is designed for inventory and catalog workflows that do not require ecommerce checkout.
Can I add custom fields to my inventory?
Yes. The plugin includes 15+ built-in fields you can enable, disable or rename. For fully custom field sets or multiple inventory types, the Advanced Inventory Manager add-on extends this further.
How does inventory display on my site?
Using the [wpinventory] shortcode. Drop it on any page and configure the output using shortcode parameters. You can also override the display templates from your theme for full HTML control.
Can visitors search and filter the inventory?
Basic search and sort are built in and work out of the box. For filtering by custom fields, category or other criteria, the Advanced Search add-on adds a configurable filter form to your inventory pages.
What is the difference between Core and Pro?
Core is the free plugin with all the base inventory features. Pro is a paid license that enables automatic updates, priority support and access to paid add-ons. Both share the same codebase — Pro is not a separate plugin.
Will it work with my theme?
Yes. WP Inventory Manager outputs standard HTML and inherits your theme’s styles. The template override system lets you customise the output further without modifying plugin files.
