Get notified when inventory runs low

Set per-item quantity thresholds and email alerts. No more manually checking stock.

The Notifications add-on lets you set a low quantity email alert on any inventory item. When the item’s quantity drops to or below your threshold, WP Inventory Manager sends an automatic email alert to whoever needs to know.

You can set a global default threshold and email in the plugin settings, then override both on a per-item basis for items that need different rules.

Installation

  1. Purchase and download the Notifications add-on.
  2. Install via WordPress dashboard → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  3. Click Activate Plugin.
  4. Enter your license key in WP Inventory → Settings → License.

Configure global defaults

Before setting per-item alerts, configure a global default that applies to any item that does not have its own override.

  1. Go to WP Inventory → Settings → Notifications.
  2. Set the Low Quantity Amount — alerts fire when any item drops to or below this number.
  3. Set the Low Quantity Email — the address(es) that receive the alert. Separate multiple addresses with a comma.
  4. Save settings.

Set a per-item alert

Per-item settings override the global defaults for that specific item only.

  1. Go to WP Inventory → Inventory and open any item.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the item edit screen.
  3. You will see two new fields:
    • Low Quantity Alert — enter a number. The alert fires when this item’s quantity reaches this value.
    • Email(s) — enter one or more email addresses. Separate multiple addresses with a comma or semicolon.
  4. Leave either field blank to fall back to the global default.
  5. Save the item.

Multiple recipients

To send alerts to more than one person, enter all email addresses in the Email(s) field separated by commas:

[email protected], [email protected], [email protected]

Troubleshooting

I set a threshold but I’m not receiving alerts.
Check that the global Low Quantity Amount is not set to 0 in Settings → Notifications, and that a valid email address is saved either on the item or in global settings. Also confirm the Notifications add-on is activated and your license key is valid.

The Low Quantity fields don’t appear on the item edit screen.
Your WordPress user role may not have permission to see these fields. Ask an administrator to check your role settings, or confirm the Notifications add-on is activated.
