WP Inventory Manager Add-On Documentation

WP Inventory Manager add-ons extend the core plugin with additional inventory management features. You can add advanced search and filtering, multiple inventory locations, reservations, import and export tools, reporting, user permissions, notifications, and more.

Use the guides below to set up and configure each WP Inventory Manager add-on.

All WP Inventory Manager add-ons require a licensed copy of WP Inventory Pro. They will not run on the free plugin.

Inventory Management Add-Ons

• Advanced Inventory Manager – Create multiple inventory types, each with its own fields, and choose field formats such as dropdowns, radio buttons and long text.
• Import/Export – Import and export inventory data to make bulk updates and data transfers easier.
• Locations Manager – Organize and track inventory across multiple physical or logical locations. You can also transfer stock between locations.
• Bulk Item Management – Update or delete many items at once using search criteria, with a preview of what will change.
• Ledger – Track additions, subtractions and reservations, record item cost alongside price, and generate invoices from recorded entries.

Search, Reservations and User Access

• Reserve Cart – Let visitors reserve several items at once in a cart, rather than one at a time.
• Advanced User Control – Control inventory access and visibility for specific WordPress users.
• Advanced Search Filter – Give visitors more ways to search and filter your inventory.

Reporting and Automation Add-Ons

• WP Inventory Logging – A diagnostic tool for troubleshooting. Only install it if WP Inventory support asks you to.
• Notifications – Send email alerts when an item’s quantity drops to a threshold you set, with per-item overrides.
• Analytics – View inventory analytics and reporting directly from WordPress.

Display Add-Ons

• Breadcrumbs – Add inventory item names to supported WordPress breadcrumb trails.
• Disable Detail Page – Remove individual inventory detail pages when your inventory listing already contains all the information visitors need.

Breadcrumbs

By default, breadcrumb plugins do not recognize individual WP Inventory items. As a result, every inventory detail page may produce the same breadcrumb trail, ending at the page that contains your inventory listing.

The Breadcrumbs add-on adds the individual inventory item’s name to that trail.

Supported Breadcrumb Plugins

The add-on works with Yoast SEO breadcrumbs and Breadcrumb NavXT.

You must already have one of these plugins installed and displaying breadcrumbs through your WordPress theme. The Breadcrumbs add-on does not create its own breadcrumb trail. Instead, it adds WP Inventory item information to the breadcrumbs you already use.

Setting Up the Breadcrumbs Add-On

Install the add-on, activate it, and enter your license key. Your inventory detail pages then show the individual item name in their breadcrumb trails.

One setting is added, under WP Inventory → Settings → General → Breadcrumb Integration. Breadcrumb Name Field chooses which field is used as the breadcrumb label, and defaults to the item name.

If the field you want is missing from that dropdown, it is because the list only contains fields you have enabled under Display → Detail Display. If you use Advanced Inventory Manager, the dropdown cannot target a per-type display field, and the default Name field is used instead.

Disable Detail Page

By default, each inventory item links to its own detail page. However, you may not need individual pages if your main inventory listing already displays everything visitors need.

The Disable Detail Page add-on removes these individual pages and the links that point to them.

Your inventory listing remains available, including its images, fields, search, and other display options. However, item names are no longer clickable, and visitors cannot directly access individual item detail pages.

Setting Up the Disable Detail Page Add-On

There are no additional settings to configure. Activating the add-on automatically disables inventory detail pages.

It also removes the detail page options from WP Inventory → Display because those settings no longer apply. If you deactivate the add-on, the options return with your previous settings intact.

Before Disabling Detail Pages

Check where visitors access your inventory reservation form before activating this add-on.

If your reservation form appears only on individual item detail pages, disabling those pages will also remove the visitor’s route to the reservation form.
